Cape Coast Tour

Morning departure pick up from the airport around 8:am to Cape Coast to visit the Cape Coast slave castle built by the British in 1665, and have a firsthand experience of the transatlantic slave trade. Cape Coast Castle is the largest of the buildings which contains the legacy of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like most ancient fortifications in Ghana, Cape Coast Castle played a significant role in the gold. In the castle’s early decades, trade revolved around gold, wood, and textiles before English merchants began to seek captive Africans in large numbers. Large, permanent trading factories like Cape Coast Castle gave European traders competitive advantages in the marketplace. By focusing resources in and around these sites, merchants could build alliances with local political leaders to ensure steady supplies of African commodities Proceed to the Kakum National Park which is located in the southern central part of Ghana not too far from the coast. The national park encompasses an area of 145 square miles (375 sq km). The park is named after the Kakum River which begins inside the protected. This is Ghana's most visited natural attraction in Ghana, the national park boost of the canopy walkway. The canopy walkway hits heights of 130 feet (40 m) as it crosses rivers and ravines. Some of the tree canopies are 160 feet (50 m) high. This canopy walkway is an adventure on its own, however, it is also an invitation to birdwatch and to sightsee peering into the canopies of the trees and the rainforest below watching for wildlife.
